Burnt-out

by Gav Leave a Comment

Now, I realize, I am burnt out. Never thought of this would ever happen to me. Thanks to Tom for pointing out this to me :).. I have been non stop working in my current JOB in Australia since the second day I landed on this country last June. Moving into different teams, working with different managers. Brilliant ones, crappy ones, useless ones.(Yeah, anniversary is coming…), the best is the f*cking weekend work roaster..I gotta be ‘on-called’ on weekends. WTF. Who said working in Australia is relaxed? I will slap on your face. The amount of work isΒ  not ridiculous, but working in a messy project, poor management, and with some poorly skilled people is tough.

I often joke with my pals that we am working like a prostitute. we perform and finish the job professionally, nobody will even says ‘Thank you’, they pay us, and go away. But, if we are not in condition to ‘perform’, we are kicked on the stomach or slapped on the face. Yeah, we are a bunch of professional, high paid prostitute in IT industry.

I am working for money. I’d never denied it. This shitty job pays me reasonably, to my own standard, though.

I resumed my trading around4 months ago. So far, I am pretty happy with my performance. I would say, it is just because, I am really doing something I love to do. Whatever, but trading full time is still not a consideration now.

OK, the fact is, I am burnt out now. Sleep 5 hours on average everyday. Waking up before 6am everyday without assistance of alarm clock, even on weekends. I just can’t sleep well. I need to do something. I would not say trading is stressing me up. Not at all. My long term readers know I am not day trading. I am trading large time frame, with minimal monitoring required. The work? might be, but not totally. I guess, I am pushing myself a little over to achieve my own financial goals. Am I ? No idea.

I am planning to take a break soon, and I need to. By the way, Trader Gav is still kicking ass in currency trading. πŸ˜†

Believe it or not. I actually feel better after writing this post.

Gav’s weekend rambling

by Gav Leave a Comment

I have been spending my weekend refreshing my memory/skill of NQ futures trading. Playing around with Tradestation. Thanks to the daylight savings things, U.S market opens around 1030pm Melbourne , Australia time. I would be pretty free at this time (currency orders should already been submitted, triggered or expired so…), instead of sticking my ass on sofa watching CSI miami, I am starting my futures trading engine again. Well, let’s see how it goes, no rush though.

Over at The Lonely Trader, reader LP was asking Jay for recommendations of currencies trading books. In short, the conclusion is , all most all the books s*ck. Well, that’s a fair statement.. I was browsing around some trading portals/forums, particularly on currency trading topics, craps. Again, and again these authors, self-claimed professional traders, full time traders, are just repeatedly writing something useless. ‘Why we do not trade on NFP day’, ‘Currencies pairs personalities’, ‘how retail forex works’,’ how leverage can maximize your profit’. Yeah, these topics are just…crap..opps, sorry, …useless.Try google it, you can find the same topics easily. It is just so boring. Anyway, you can’t learn trading from reading these stuffs.

So, how to learn currency trading? Trade currencies, and find a way to save yourself, learn to survive. Uhm…that’s all the ‘advice’ I can give. πŸ™‚ If you are interested, maybe have a look at blogs like lonely trader, the3500, and of course, Trader Gav.com to find some clues about skill of exchanging currencies πŸ˜† Anyway, you have to jump into the pool to learn swimming. You can’t just googling ‘how to swim’ and expect something to happen.

Ok, enough rambling. April version of Currency Trader magazine is out, check it out. Chart scanning will be done tomorrow. I guess we should have a clearer direction next week, I hope so!

Have a good weekend.

Who needs work? (What a disgrace)

by Gav Leave a Comment

Nobody loves to pay tax. But, we all understand that it is our duty for the sake of society and country development and welfare. I am paying, to my own opinion, a ridiculous amount of tax every month (man, I am really pissed when looking at the tax deducted from my pay check every month! πŸ™ ). But well, this is the ‘duty’.

HOWEVER, when you realize that tax payers’ hard earned money are used by a bunch of lazy bum, maybe it is time to question the welfare system of this country. No, I am not referring to pensioner. I am talking about these group of young, healthy, and even strong people, who just ‘DON’T WANT TO WORK’. I don’t care if they wanna work or not, but, if tax payers’ money are used to feed these bunch of ‘social elite’, uhm…what do you think? It sucks.

This report is kinda disturbing.

Rambling…of a homesick trader

by Gav Leave a Comment

Again, I am posting the same song again. To be frank, it is tough living , relocating in a foreign country. Yes, this country is beautiful, but, I am kinda home sick. Am I doing the right decision by moving here? It is too early to tell.

Am I being emotional now? Yes, I am. I am feeling tired of my job, maybe. I feel I am constantly under stress. The only thought in my mind now is…I wanna go home. But, this is just a random thought though.

This post is just a piece my rambling. Leave it if you like.
