Forex Brokers Evolution

by Gav Leave a Comment

I have been hearing some news about rising capital requirement for Forex brokers. Here we go. Well, how many small brokers will be eliminated by then? Well, in the non regulated market, this move is considered as an improvement to the retail Forex trading though.

From Fxstreet.com

NFA (National Futures Association) has received notice that the Commodity Futures Trading Commission has approved changes to NFA Requirements Section 11 and the Interpretive Notice entitled “Forex Transactions.” The amendments increase the minimum net capital requirement for Forex Dealer Members (FDMs) to $5,000,000. They also eliminate the concentration charge and replace it with restrictions on the types of firms with which an FDM may maintain assets and cover its exposure for purposes of CFTC Regulation 1.17. These changes will become effective on December 21, 2007.

Anyway, this one is from Forbes’ website. Billionaires for Africa. Some of the world’s wealthiest residents are exploiting their connections, expertise and nest eggs to change Africa’s fate. Nice read. Enjoy.

Owen carried off after clash with team-mate

by Gav Leave a Comment

Again, he is injured. Let’s hope he is fine. A talented and hardworking striker who had spent most of his time for the past two years in medical room. What’s wrong with him? He is just being unlucky.

Striker Michael Owen was carried off on a stretcher in the 67th minute of Newcastle’s Premiership game with Watford. The England international had collided with the shoulder of team-mate Matthew Pattison a couple of minutes earlier and was not fit to continue.

We know trading is a tough business. In order to achieve consistent profit from trading, hard work is required. Some traders are more talented than others. But, what about luck? I still believe it plays a part in this business. Trader should not bother too much over this, working hard on strategy, psychology, discipline, risk management etc will certainly help. But, when it comes to luck, you can only pray for a better one.

I remember a saying I read from a book or hear from a show, it basically meant to say :” Always get yourself prepared, Good luck will look for you”.
