Trading diary: 02-Oct-2006 Monday Morning

by Gav Leave a Comment

Dear diary,

It is October. Seems like people are expecting this month to be a better month for trading. Well, I really hope so.

Here is what I see in the Monday morning. First 30 minutes of regular session, I am looking at 5-min chart of E-mini S&P. Volume is not impressive, just enough to contribute a volatile session. TICK stays positive for most of the time, however, it is below 400 level. TRIN is trying to trend up, though it is still below 1. At least for now, these two indicators do not tell me a clear direction of market.
It looks like we are going to see another choppy day. I am still waiting for clearer picture.

Talk to you later.

Trading diary: 29-September-2006 Friday Morning

Dear diary,

After watching the market for the first 30 minutes, I, again, lost the interest to trade today. We are likely to have another choppy day. Man, I can’t wait for September to be over. NYSE TICK is hovering around +400 to -400. It spent most of time above 0. Volume is normal, nothing impressive. Bears are trying to sell the top, but I don’t think it is a good idea to go short at the moment.

From the first 30 minutes of trading, I see a volatile with slightly positive biased sentiment. I am not going to trade today. I just can’t catch where does market try to go today.

I will start my reading now. Talk to you later.

Trading diary: 28-September-2006 Thursday morning

Dear diary,

This is between you and me. I wanna tell you what I see in the market right now. It seems like we are likely to see a pull back today after last few days’ gain in indices. YM, ES, NQ, ER2 are having negative opening.

Volume wise, it is enough to contribute a volatile session since average volume in 5-min chart of ES in the first 30 minutes are above 10k. I said a volatile session because NYSE TICK is moving in the range of +400 to -400 in the first 30 minutes. So the negative opening does not seem to be a sell off.

I really don’t know what will happen later of the day. I will see what is the situation and decide if I am going to trade.

I will talk to you later.

A quick one. We have slight positive opening with YM, ES, NQ took off yesterday’s high in the first 30 minutes, however, it seems to be? it is likely to be a choppy day ahead.

I don’t have specific trading preference at this point of time.

Trading: 26-September-2006: Market Opening

A little bit late to my desk. We have pretty positive opening. In fact, I have a dummy setup in 15-min chart of E-mini Nasdaq, however as one of my rules is not to trade during the first 30 minutes, so..

So far, I am only looking at Long opportunity. Just hope the market does not fool around again.

Trading: 25-September-2006: Market Opening

We have gap up in 15-min charts of E-mini Nasdaq, E-mini S&P and mini-sized Dow. However, all gaps are filled and indices are indeed moving downward after first 30-min of cash market trading. I am not comfortable to get in any long position, instead, I am looking for possible short opportunity.
